Vale Tony Lewis

posted Mar 11, 2013, 3:17 AM by Mark Tobin
On Sunday, 24th February a small ceremony was held to scatter the ashes of Tony Lewis in the bay.  At the request of his family, wife Val Lewis, Tony's son Greg and grandchildren Peter and Robyn undertook a short voyage on the Club Start Boart, Pandora out to a point in the middle of the bay to scatter his ashes.  Long time member Tony Lewis who passed away last year, who had been the club starter for many seasons prior to his death, had been instrumental in the Clubs purchase of the vessel and his fondness for Pandora made the ceremony a fitting tribute.  It is proposed a plaque be fitted to the Start Boat as an ongoing memorial to Tony.
