The Jervis Bay Cruising Yacht Club’s 2012 – 2013 sailing season is set for a flying start this weekend when the inaugural race in Jervis Bay Yachting’s Spring Series gets underway on Sunday 23
rd September.

Racing in Division 1 is expected to be hotly contested with Shane Firkin and Lisa Hood’s new Northshore  37 Quintessence and Mick Linhart’s new Bavaria 44 Manly Too set to challenge Commodore  Mark Tobin’s long standing reign at the front of the fleet in Cougar. In Division 2 David and Pauline Churchwood’s Bounty 35 Motion is expected to challenge Ken Dryburgh’s Northshore 27 Rockhopper’s dominance of the division while rapidly improving new comers Kevin and Joanne Lord’s Overture and Brian Saunder’s Sea Change will lead the charge to challenge Alan and Kerry Leach’s superiority in the catamaran Tranquillity in Division 3.

The Club would like to encourage new members and people interested in crewing to view the clubs website at for information about the club’s sailing and social calendar for the season ahead and for contact details of the club’s officers. Visitors are welcome to introduce themselves to members of the race committee prior to the race briefing which will be held at the Callala Bay reserve on Sunday morning at 9:30 am.
