Short Offshore Race 1

posted Nov 25, 2014, 5:15 AM by David Churchward
Saturday 22nd November heralded bright, sunny, perfect conditions for the first of the offshore series races - a 10 knot NE kicked in for the start of the race and it remained a steady 10 - 15 NE knot for the remainder of the race. Five boats lined up for the start: Invincible, Alexander, and Motion for the keel boats; Overture and Tranquility for Division 3. Invincible quickly took the lead for the keel boats and stayed well in front for the whole race. By Longnose Point Alexander had overtaken Motion to be in second place, and this was the order till the race finish. In Division 3 Overture got away to good start, then it was Tranquility, then Overture, then Tranquility, etc etc until Tranquility finally settled into the lead position.

On regatta handicap it was Motion that took it out for the keel boats and Tranquility for Division 3. Well done to all who raced!
