Season Opening Race was sailed in perfect conditions. A consistent ten to fifteen knot southeasterly breeze was excellent for the ten mile race out to Beecroft Peninsula and back. A fleet of nine yachts participated. Cougar skippered by Mark Tobin won all categories in Division One and Tranquility skippered by Alan Leach won all categories in Division Two.
It was good to see the new yachts Splinter skippered by Ron Kelly, and Aqua Gem skippered by Jim Lay, and we welcome their participation with the club.
Dalliance skippered by Steve Simpson and helmed by Meryl Simpson, put in a very impressive performance, and could prove to be very competitive during the season.
The race was followed by a post race BBQ. and presentation. This provided a great catch up with fellow sailors after the winter break.
