posted Sep 14, 2011, 3:57 PM by Mark Tobin

Shake the wrinkles out of those sails, blow the barnacles of the hull, it’s time for the 2011-12 season to start.  This Sunday 18th September the JBCYC season kicks off with the first race for the season.  The race will be a non-point scoring event aimed at getting things underway gradually but allows new boats to start developing their handicap.  The usual prizes will be up for grabs and the first race will see the start of the clubs new 3 division format with the new multi-hull division, pitting like boats against each other.  Another innovation for the year will be set courses, with a variety of courses each individually numbered to be advised on the day of racing at the briefing as well as shown on a board displayed from the back of the Start Boat.  Membership applications and renewals will be taken on the day prior to the briefing and a SKIPPERS MEETING WILL TAKE PLACE immediately after the briefing.  Come along and enjoy the fun.   BBQ after as always.
