posted Oct 29, 2014, 6:53 AM by David Churchward

This exciting annual event, organised by the Jervis Bay Sailing Club Inc in association with the Jervis Bay Cruising Yacht Club Inc, will be held on the weekend of 1st & 2nd November 2014. This event is a major attraction for the local sailing community and in addition attracts boats and crews from across the South East Region of NSW. Racing will be conducted in 4 divisions: Trailerable yachts; Sports boats; Keel boats; and Catamarans. In addition there will be a 5th Cruising Division for boats that want to sail the course but have no time recorded. The course is intended to take in as much of Jervis Bay as possible and is therefore an 'Around the Bay Race'.

Registrations and Briefings will be conducted at two locations: The Frank Lewis Way Boat Ramp at Woolamia, and at the Callala Junior Sailing School building, south of the boat ramp at Callala Bay. Registrations will be accepted from 8:00 am with competitors meetings conducted at 9:30 at the Woolamia boat ramp, or 9:00 am at the Callala Junior Sailing School. The entry fee for the event is $60 per boat. The Sailing Instructions will be available once boats are registered and race fees have been paid.

At the conclusion of racing on the Saturday a presentation and social function will be held at the Huskisson Hotel commencing at 6:30 pm. Attendees will need to order food from the Hotel Bistro and this will then be followed by the presentation at 7:45 pm. Divisional winners and place getters will receive trophies and prizes. This promises to be a great night of reviewing photos, reminiscing about the day, and sharing good food and beverages.

Racing will continue on the Sunday with several around the bouts races for which on water prizes will be awarded.

Further information is available in the Notice of Race and Race Entry Forms which are available on the Forms Page on this website.
