A Great Day for the Season Opening Race

The Season Opening Race for the JBCYC 2014/15 racing season got off to a fine start on Sunday 14 September 2014. There was plenty of sunshine and a consistent 10 knot southerly breeze. The 7 nm course set between Hare Bay and Long Beach was sufficient to let the boats and crews shake out the sails after the winter recess and find their sea legs again. The eight yachts crossed the start line in a close bunch and progressively spread out as the Division 1 yachts put a healthy distance between themselves and the rest of the fleet. Newcomer Y Knot put on a commendable performance crossing the line 2nd, just after Chutzpah. Y Knot’s performance promises great things and we look forward to seeing impressive results from them in the future. On PHS corrected times Chutzpah took out first place for Divison 1, Matana for Division 2, and Shambala for Division 3. The first race of the Spring Series gets underway on Sunday 28th September.
